Snow Day 2013

There were approximately 1,000 news reports on Wednesday and Thursday of last week hoping that Raleigh would get a couple of inches of snow Thursday night.  As is often the case with our fair city, we just got a dusting on the lawn.  Fortunately, I don't work Fridays so we got to stay home and play in what little there was.

Clara is still in her pjs with the bow she wore to bed (yep, the bow she wore to bed) and Julia is sitting on a cookie sheet because I'm like the MacGyver of motherhood.  Because of the forecast, Clara's class spent the whole week talking about snow.  When I told her it snowed she ran outside and said, "that's not snow, what IS that?"  She was expecting more of a blanket.  Both girls had a great time tasting the snow, and then wanted to go in after they got cold.

Welcome 2013!

The biggest event of 2012 was certainly Julia's birth, but 2012 was a wonderful year for us.  It was an expensive year (new baby, tree on the house leading to new siding, windows and paint, new car, new water heater, new microwave, multiple plumber visits, etc.), but a wonderful year.  We expanded our family and spent lots of time with our extended family, made some really wonderful new friends, built stronger friendships with the friends we were already blessed to know, escaped for a few fun trips, and just generally enjoyed the every day life of our young family.

Here's our year in pictures.  It's not every little thing, these are just pro shots or pics from the big camera, which I don't always remember to take it or upload pictures from, but it's a pretty good summary.  2013 has some pretty big shoes to fill!
